The changes experienced in 2020, both social and technological, have caused the rise of online training in the world of civil society organizations.
Currently, many people are in confinement and doing their work from home as a preventive measure against the spread of COVID-19. Situation that has forced various entities of society such as the CRGR and its partner organizations to seek tools to coordinate actions, stay informed and strengthen learning in times of pandemic, and a solution to achieve this challenge is the use of virtual platforms like e-learning (online learning).
This training model has been taking more and more momentum to become an innovative and fundamental element for the development of human talent within organizations, capable of adapting to the continuous changes of the digital age.
That is why the CRGR designed its own E-Learning platform to make available to its membership and public of interest: courses, workshops, diplomas and different training processes.
With this objective, the Regional Network for Risk Management in Central America (CRGR) began on March 1, 2021 the regional course for the «Use of the CRGR E-Learning platform» aimed at technical staff of its partner organizations. Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua.
Cleotilde Guevara, CRGR regional project coordinator, shared at the beginning of the event that “we are encouraged and encouraged to continue learning about the use of virtual platforms, which will lead us precisely to have the knowledge of using and managing them. The CRGR and each of our National Tables want to specialize the technical teams that can do the work of educators and recipients in this training-action process ”.
This course has an introductory training plan for the CRGR’s E-Learning platform, where the use, editing and methodology, the creation of courses, the preparation of virtual classes and the tools available to you within the workspace that the platform provides.
«Our E-Learning platform will be a teaching and learning space, a place where a set of training processes will be carried out aimed at acquiring knowledge of various skills and specializations,» said Zaira Catota, CRGR regional communications officer.
This training process is part of the actions of the regional project “Consolidate capacities of the CRGR for higher quality Humanitarian Action and contribute to improving resilience in Central America. Phase III ”with the support of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.
This training will be in charge of the ATS Group consulting team, through its representative Felix Ivan Meléndez Alfaro, who facilitated the first introductory session.
«This course is aimed at introducing representatives of civil society organizations to the use of technological tools in order to develop the teaching process through the Internet, this being an essential skill to continue the work of training and dissemination of learning through digital media ”mentioned Felix Meléndez.
The CRGR considers that knowledge management is essential to share information and knowledge through courses and trainings, and to strengthen the competencies and capacities of its membership, the academy, local social actors and the population in general for effective management. of risks and incidence in public policies.
According to Eny Aguirre regional resource management officer of the CRGR, with this type of actions the Concertación is committed to “Developing a knowledge and resource management model appropriate to the needs of the communities and member organizations of this network, in the different levels of action «
This regional course will last from March 1 to 5, 2021 and will be carried out through videoconferences, making use of the virtual platform from the point of view of the student and the facilitator or teacher, to acquire the perspective of use of both actors. In addition, practical cases of the use of the platform will be carried out, resolution of doubts and manuals and a certificate of participation will be provided at the end of the training.
